Greeley Morning Garden Club Scholarship

In Honor of Mary Fagerberg

General Information

The Greeley Morning Garden Club (GMGC) scholarship is an annual one-time grant of $2000 paid from GMGC’s Garden Tour profits.
Recipient must choose an accredited public college, university or technical school which offers courses leading to a career in the fields of gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design, conservation or horticulture.
Awarded funds will be sent directly to the winner.
Awarded funds will be mailed in early August from Greeley Morning Garden Club to the winning applicant once school enrollment has been verified.

Application Deadline: March 31st 2026

Applicant Eligibility

Applicant must meet ALL the following criteria

Must be a US Citizen and Legal resident of Greeley/Evans, CO
Must be a high school senior who will be a freshman in the fall and will be attending an accredited college, university or technical school.
Must complete high school graduation requirements
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 (on a scale of 4.0)
Must be planning to attend school full-time in Fall 2026
Must be seeking to major in one of the following fields of study:
- Plant Pathology/Science
- Horticulture
- Floriculture
- Landscape Design
- Botany, Biology
- Forestry
- Environmental Concerns
- Conservation
- Agriculture Education
- Land Management
- Habitat or Forest/Systems Ecology
- Soil & Crop Science
- Greenhouse Mgmt

Letter from applicant (one page only) discussing background, goals, personal commitment to chosen career and financial need.
List of extracurricular activities, honors, recognitions received within the last 3 years
